It is not easy to ask for help.

Here are the Frequently Asked Questions. βββ
I am a compassionate psychotherapist that offers direct solutions and gentle confrontation to help individuals improve mood and behavior. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. You are the expert on you! π§ πͺ I offer individuals years of experience and knowledge, helping people challenge their thinking and behavior to improve their mood.
What is My Therapy Approach? π‘
I believe that thinking causes feelings, and behaviors are a reaction to those thoughts and feelings. π I will work with you to change unhelpful and negative thinking to improve your mood and behaviors.
This technique is called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I understand that this may not work for everyoneβdon't worry! I'm trained and experienced in using various therapeutic methods to meet your unique needs. π
Will Therapy Be Uncomfortable? π«£
Therapy can be uncomfortable at times as thoughts, feelings, secrets, and past experiences are explored. π Although it can feel tough, I will provide support and work with you to develop solutions that lead to greater happiness and restore peace. πΌπ§ββοΈ
Do You Give Homework? π
I may occasionally assign tasks or homework to complete between sessions. These exercises help practice skills discussed in our sessions and assess progress toward your goals. π
Although these tasks arenβt mandatory for continuing therapy, they are very helpful!
How Long Will Therapy Take?
Itβs difficult to place a specific time frame on therapy because every individual is different. After about 6-8 sessions, you should start to notice improvements in your mood. The first 3-4 sessions are spent getting to know each other, which helps to build a trusting, therapeutic relationship. π
After that, Iβll develop a personalized treatment plan based on your needs, and weβll evaluate progress together along the way.
What to Expect in the Initial Session: ποΈ
Your first session is a consultation, during which weβll complete necessary forms and assessments to identify your problems, concerns, strengths, and goals. ποΈ
The initial session lasts about 55-60 minutes. It's important to either complete forms before the session or arrive early to ensure everything is ready. π
Weekly Sessions & Frequency π
Weekly sessions are recommended to develop treatment goals and assess your progress. Each ongoing session will last about 50-55 minutes. Over time, the frequency of our sessions can be adjusted to better suit your needs. π€π¬
Therapy with Minors (Age 2-17): π§Έπ§
A parent or guardian must consent to services for minors.
It's recommended that they attend the initial session. For younger children (under 12), please have another adult available to sit with the minor while we complete the intake assessment. π§
For older kids (13+), they can choose whether to participate in the initial session.
For minors, I work closely with parents and guardians.
For younger children, I spend 10-15 minutes of each session discussing concerns with parents.
For teens, I'll meet with parents every 4-6 weeks to touch base. π¨βπ©βπ§
