Your Past Can Influence Your Future

The brain uses previous experiences, teaching, and memories to help us make decisions in the present moment.  The brain’s ability to store and organize information helps us grow and be unique individuals.

Here is a simple example of how the brain works; at some point in life you learned what a tree is.  Now every time you see a tree you are able to instantly identify a tree without any difficulty.  Because the brain remembers we are intelligent humans with beautiful qualities and talents.

It is also because of the brains ability to remember that our past will influence our future.  The brain remembers events and situations just as easily as it remembers objects.  It remembers how a person or persons hurt you and possibly mistreated or betrayed you.  Those experiences will influence how you interact with people.

You can read more about that here:

So how does our past impact your future? How you think, feel, and behave in the moment is related to experiences in your past, and it will determine how you think, feel, and behave in the future.  The way to not allow your past to impact your future is to learn new ways to think and behave.  This can involve acknowledging your past and healing from past hurts and injustices.  This is not always an easy thing to do.  But I can help you overcome your past and proceed toward a future you always wanted.
