ACCESSIBLE SERVICES
Accessible mental health care
is our mission.
We believe everyone deserves effective and quality mental health care and support.
We believe that mental health affects everyone and everyone can benefit from the support and skills and tools that counseling can provide. In order to make counseling more accessible we offer a variety of options to support your lifestyle.
If you cannot afford one of our awesome therapists established fee, please discuss our accessible care services. We are an Out of Network provider - this means we do not accept insurance - and our accessible services allows us to make counseling affordable.
We currently have FREE or sliding scale counseling services available. Our student and counseling interns have all the education and even the skills to best support you. They are new to the field and closely supervised by Dr. Stephanie Waitt, LPC-S, CEDS.
Dr. Steph has over 15 years experience in the mental health field and remembers the challenges that young and new therapists in the field are presented with. In order to help more people get help and help new and young professionals in the field, Texoma Specialty Counseling is a certified training and practicum site.
This means we can offer free, low cost services to those who need it, and allow our student interns to gain essential experience in the field. You can be assured you are receiving top treatment and care, as students and interns meet frequently with Dr. Steph to review cases and ensure the best treatment and care is being provided.
We also do believe in our work and our student interns and new counselors have low fees (starting at $35) and we will explore a fee that is best for your lifestyle. If you wish to use your insurance, our interns may be able to offer to see you for the cost of your insurance co-pay. If you do not have insurance or you cannot afford the assigned therapists fee, we can offer you a low fee counseling session and reserve FREE spots for those in need.
We will explore all our options and services with you during an intake session with one of our counseling interns ($75).

Allison McKinney, Level I Student Counselor & Certified Yoga Instructor
I am interested in supporting adults of all ages through life transitions, anxiety, perfectionism, and existential concerns, including meaning-making and death anxiety. If you’re struggling with anything from self-critique to fear of missing out, I’m here to help you navigate these challenges.
My approach is relational and client-centered, seeing you holistically within your full cultural and relational context. I believe it’s essential for you to feel heard and seen in our work together, and I am committed to building a trusting, supportive relationship. I understand that opening up to someone new can be daunting, and I would be honored to walk with you on your journey to a healthier, happier you.
As a graduate counseling psychology student at Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rutgers University, I bring a unique blend of creativity and therapeutic expertise to our sessions. As a certified yoga instructor, I’m also open to incorporating art, movement, or even a bit of silliness into our work together, depending on what resonates with you. My goal is to meet you where you are and find what works best for your healing and growth.
Let’s explore together how we can create the change you’re looking for!
Amanda Bruner, Level I Student Counselor
Therapy is a space for deep exploration, healing, and self-acceptance. I believe in the power of relational healing and strive to create a safe, affirming, and empowering environment where all parts of you are welcome—including the parts that feel messy, complicated, or hard to hold. Whether you’re navigating trauma, identity development, or relationship dynamics, I will walk alongside you as you deepen your understanding of yourself and your experiences.
My approach is rooted in multicultural, feminist, and social justice frameworks, acknowledging the impact of the systems we live within. I pull from multiple approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness to support clients in connecting with themselves holistically. I value curiosity over criticism and believe that self-compassion is a radical tool for growth.
I am especially passionate about working with LGBTQ+ individuals and neurodivergent clients, helping them feel seen, understood, and empowered in their identities. If you’re seeking a space where you can explore who you are, process past wounds, and move toward the life you want, I’d love to support you in that journey.
